You can start hunting when you have full fifth degree armor.First,make sure that thief is not high level.You can see it by weapons.Then you can kill the thief just by clicking on him and start using your skills to fight.You should always keep away from higher level thiefs and NPC Thieves with red names.

Silkroad Online is a skill based game,it is important to choose skills and add skill point wisely when you are levelling up and learning new skills.
There are three different weapon skill trees to choose:Bicheon,Heuskal,and Pacheon.Besides your four elemental skill trees are:Cold, Lightning, Fire, and Force.All these trees are also known as your mastery trees.The skills you choose will make you different from other players. You need to raise a mastery tree to a certain amount to gain access to skills within that tree.
Players always need to gain certain amount of skill point before skill level upgrade.You can add one skill point first,then you can see clearly how many skill points needed to level up the skill on the skill table.In fact,400 skill experience points is equal to 1 skill point and it will be the same situation across all levels.

There are three jobs in Silkroad Online:Merchant,Hunter and Thief.Players can choose a job in the game at level 20.
Merchants,known as Traders,act as a medium of transport in which goods can be taken town to town for profits.They always buy goods at normal price in a city and sell out in higher prices. The fee to join the trader union is 10,000 gold.Then you can start training as a trader at level 20 or wait until you get stronger.It's quite wisely to become a trader at level 30 because it will take you longer time for european trips and there are stronger level mobs on the way.
Hunters' task is to defend the merchant from thieves or monsters.They usually earn points by killing thieves or monsters and helping traders in their transports.Finally they gain money from traders for guarding them.Besides hunters will start their job from level 60 because they need to be stronger to fight with thieves.
To be a thief,first you need to talk with Yumi at barrom street in Jangan,then you have to buy a thief suit and talk to the NPC's in Thief town.Thieves always attempt to rob merchants and steal their goods so that they can sell them in market.You'd better work in a group,becasue a five-star-trade mostly brings a lot of hunters.
